Jesus is gathering God’s people and Satan is also gathering his, where do you belong?
Text John 12:31-36; Revelation 20:7-10
In today’s sermon, we shall consider two opposite phenomena, the gathering of God’s people by Jesus, and Satan also gathering people; to fight the camp of God. The
question is, where do you belong?
Jesus calls God’s Children
- Through the preaching of the gospel (Romans 10:13-17; Acts 13:44-48)
- Through meeting their physical needs (e.g. Luke 5:1-11). Your needs should draw you to God through Christ. Don’t let problems make you surrender your soul to satan.
- Sometimes, through visions and dreams… (e.g., Paul, in Acts 9).
How Satan recruits people
Through deception, manipulation (people’s will), rebelliousness against God, intimidation, and control (e.g., Acts 17: 1-5; John 8:42-44; 2 The 2:1-12).
N.B Technology coming from aliens, UFOs.,. Knowledge from other planets makes humans become proud and stop depending on God.
Where do you belong, God’s children, or Satan’s camp? See Galatians 5:19-21.
Characteristics of Satan’s people: they have the nature of Satan: e.g. Wickedness, gossip, sexual immorality, idolatry ( the forbidden practices, see Deut. 18:9-13), etc.
Characteristics of God’s people through Christ: they have the fruit of God’s Spirit; e.g. love, joy, peace, gentleness, etc. This is because they have been again (John 3:3-5).
What can you do in God’s kingdom in 2024?
