Jubilee 2025 Day 03: The universal curse from Adam and the reversal through faith in Jesus Christ
Some background understandings
What Adam and Eve passed on to humanity is sin and some unique consequences
Sin is a deliberate act of disobedience against God’s law (Genesis 2:15-17)
Everyone must overcome sin, or else sin will destroy them (Genesis 4:6-7).
God gives us the knowledge of sin and righteousness, and then it is up to us to decide what to do
(Genesis 2:15-17; 4:6-7; 20:1-7). How? Through visions, dreams, conscience (Rom 2:14-15,
nature, Scripture, preachers (Rom 10:13-15)…
God provides the solution to the problem of sin: through animal sacrifice in the OT (Lev
17:11 ); in the NT, by the sacrifice of Jesus ( 1 John 2:1-2). Jesus makes available to humanity
forgiveness, eternal life, and other promises of God.
Unless God tells us about our sins, people will sin, live with the consequences, suffer, and
even die in their sins (e.g., Gen 3; 2 Sam 12; Romans 7:7, etc). God is good!
God gives us the knowledge of sin and righteousness through visions, dreams, conscience.
(Rom 2:14-15, nature, Scripture, preachers (Rom 10:13-15)…
Text Genesis 3:1-14; Romans 5:12-21
Genesis 3 tells us about the sin Adam passed on to humanity, how it happened, the penalty, and how to stepped in to help the human race.
Romans 5:12-21 tells us about how sin entered the world through Adam and how forgiveness and righteousness were made available to the world through Jesus Christ.
Conclusion of the matter: to reverse any curse, you must love God and obey His commandments( Exo 20:5-6; Ecc 12:13-14; Matt 6:33).
