Jubilee 2025 Day 01: Reversing Personal Curses: The Story of Ahab (Experiencing God’s blessings)
Some background understandings
To curse means to inflict harm or punishment supernaturally on someone or something.
Where did the curse come from? God who puts curses and blessings in His creation (Gen 2:15-16;12:1 Curse on those who do evil and blessings upon those who do good.
Satan does not have the authority to curse; instead, he influences people to do things that will bring a curse upon them.
People who are cursed bring misfortunes on others and on themselves.
Curses occur when there is a transgression of God’s commandments.
Those who are cursed (wicked) are like grass which flourish briefly but shall perish forever (Psalm 92:7)
You cannot just pray or perform a ritual to break curses; you must love God and obey His commandments.
When a believer disobeys God, they reap the consequences of their behaviour.
I am born again, will I suffer from the sins of my parents or ancestors?
Text 1 Kings 21

Why did God allow Ahab and Jezebel to kill Naboth? Why did God allow Cain to kill Abel? What should the righteous do? Psalm 91 is a very helpful Scripture! Do not mingle with those who want to harm and show you the signs…, if they get you, they will not spare you.
Which of the commandments of God did Ahab transgress? –Covetousness and murder- hence the curse. How did he reverse? Humility before God (1 Kings 21:28-29). Sadly, the punishment was felt by his family and close friends.
