Every promise of God shall be fulfilled (Great is the faithfulness of God)
Text: Joshua 21:43-45; Galatians 4:4-6; Isaiah 55:9-11; Lamentations 3:19-24
We are in our thanksgiving season, and we want to remind ourselves of God's faithfulness, knowing that every promise of God shall be fulfilled. And this should spur us on to thank him.
We shall consider this message under the following headings:
What God has for humanity (Jer 29:4-11; John 10:10 vs what we want for ourselves (e.g. Jer 29:4-11; John 3:16-21). God is giving salvation, but men love darkness….
Principle of fruit-bearing and multiplication: God expects us to increase and multiply what we have received (John 15: 16; Matthew 25:14-30).
Pruning, hardships, and discipline: This means God is treating us as his children (John 15:1-2; Rom. 8:18; Heb. 12:7-12).
Sowing and harvesting: Thus, we reap what we sow (Gal 6:7; James 3:18). We have sown good deeds, and we shall harvest God’s blessings.
Seasons of life: There is a set time for everything, and when the time comes, all shall be well (Genesis 18:9-14; Gal 4:4; Ecclesiastes 3).
Rewards from God: God rewards everything we do for him (Mark 10:28-30). E. g., Joshua and Caleb (Numbers 32:12), even Nebuchadnezzar (Ezekiel 29:17-20).
Our Future inheritances (Heb. 11:13-16). That some things are waiting for us in future (2 Cor 5:1-5; Rev 21:1-5). We hope in God for the good things to come
