Our choices and the choices God makes for us

Text Genesis 2:15-18; Acts 17:26-27

Message 1: God makes some choices for us, and he allows us to make some individual choices (Genesis 2: 16-17; Acts 17:26-27).

Choices God makes for us, e.g., your parents, place of birth, your destiny (Jer 1:4-5; Eph 1:4-10). N.B: Most people are struggling in life because they live contrary to God’s plan for them. God has also given us free will to make some choices (Gen 2:15-18), e.g, whom you marry, etc. Your choices come with responsibilities, benefits, and consequences (Rev 22:11-12). Therefore, pray, use God’s word, and follow godly counselling to make godly choices.

Message 2: And the two shall be one (Eph 5:31)

The husband and the wife become one flesh, for good or bad. This depends on who is dominant or strong in the marriage. A couple can become one in poverty or in riches, in godliness or in ungodliness. Good couples: Abraham and Sarah (1 Pet 3:1-7, Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18:24-26)… Bad couples: Adam & Eve (Gen. 3), Ahab & Jezebel (1 Kings 21); Annanias and Sapheria (Acts 5). N.B. Statistics show that if one person in your social group gets divorced, the next year another person will, and the trend continues.

Message 3: Keeping our agreement, oats with God (Ecclesiastes 5:4-6; Psalm 50:14-15).

Many people have promised God, but have neglected to fulfil it.

Message 4: In the Days of Salvation:

The opportunity for salvation in Christ Jesus can be closed; therefore, now is the Day of Salvation, accept Jesus Christ today (Luke 13:22-30; 2 Cor 6:1-2).
