The Grace of God: An excellent and profitable message for every human being.
Text Ephesians 2:1-5; Titus 3:3-8
Understanding the Grace of God (unmerited kindness)
Those who have understood God’s grace are humble, grateful (e.g. 1 Cor 4:7), and discover their destiny and receive eternal life.
The Grace of God has different purposes: deliverance, service, and for a covenant (e.g, Abraham), Salvation in Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-15), etc.
It is God’s Grace that makes every good thing possible. Thus, wherever you see or experience anything good in the whole universe, the grace of God is responsible.
Wherever there is judgment, destruction, the grace of God is at work: to separate the righteous from the unrighteous ( 2 Peter 2:4-9).
Because of evil in our world, God’s grace attracts challenges (e.g, Joseph, Genesis 37). It is challenging to be blessed by God in an evil world.
The grace of God teaches us what to do (Titus 2:11-15). God's grace is seasonal and has an expiration date (Genesis 15:16; Acts 14:15-17)
How do you know that God's grace is upon you?
When you are ungodly yet God decides to do good to you (Acts 14:15-17; Rom 2:4; 2 Pet 3:8-9
When someone tells you to go to church (Psalm 122:1; Hebrews 4:16)
When you hear the good news about Jesus Christ. E.g., Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52); When Naomi heard that God had come to bless the people, she set out to go back (Ruth 1:6).
Why does God’s Grace work for some people but not others?
Disobedience, unbelief, grumbling, testing God (1 Corinthians 10:1-13; Hebrews 4:1-2)
