The wages of sin is death, the repentance of a sinner is a great joy in heaven.
Text Luke 15:1-10; Ezekiel 18:30-32
We are happy when we find what is lost or recover what is in danger of being destroyed.
In the same way, there is rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents. This could mean that
most people do not really repent; they just learn how to hide their sins and behave nicely.
The wages of Sin is death (no life), but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus (Genesis
2:16-17; Romans 6:23).
This is one of the urgent messages we shall tell the nations and everyone.
Sin is the transgression of God’s law. It moves the sinner away from God, exposing them to ruin.
Sin is very damaging. Wherever there is sin, there is no life (death). It destroys lives, destinies,
dreams, relationships, health, marriages…
Sin is very, very difficult to deal with: Only God can help with sin (Rom 7:21-25).
There is forgiveness of sins and eternal life for those who will believe in Jesus Christ and repent
from their sins (Acts 2:36-41).
God has given us an important work to tell people to repent from their sins (Jam 5:19-20)
Repentance: Those who repent receive forgiveness from God
Repentance is at least a four-fold action:
being sorry for your sins ( you confess it, you don’t hide it (James 5:14-16; 1 John 1:8-9)
being willing for God to wash away your sins,
Stop doing what you know is sin (e.g., John 5:14)
Doing what God says is right
Those who receive forgiveness from God receive restoration
e.g., the paralytic man received healing when his sins were forgiven (Matt 9:1-8); the prodigal
son received his life back when he returned to the father in repentance (Luke 15:
