‘Birth pains’, Salvation, and Destruction
(God has set into motion ‘birth Pains’, delivering a new creation and destruction)
Text Romans 8:18-25; Matthew 24:4-14, Daniel 11:33-35; 12:9-10;
Daniel prophesied that in the End times, there will be birth pains, a New creation and destruction. In Matthew 24, Jesus reminds us of this and what we should do in response. Paul writes that God has subjected the creation to frustration, resulting in a new creation and the destruction of the old.
What do we know about Birth pains?
Once the ‘birth pain’ kicks in, it will not stop until the delivery of the baby. The outcome of the delivery could be that the child will be born alive or dead. The woman giving birth survives or loses her life if there is not enough strength to bring forth the child (Isaiah 37:3).
God has told us what to do
1. Don't worry. Remind yourself that God is in control and seek help from God (Matt 24:6).
2. Be careful that you don't get yourself into unnecessary ‘birth pains’ (Matt 24:15-22).
3. In case you find yourself in 'birth pains’, don’t allow the problem to consume you, focus on the glory- your salvation and relationship with God (Luke 21:18; Dan 11:33-35; Rom 8:18-21).
