God has given us more than we imagined or asked for (a thanksgiving message)

God’s word teaches truth, persuades the heart, shows the way of life, and calls us to act.

Text Romans 5:6-8; Ephesians, 3:20-21

It is true that, in life, God gives human beings more than we imagined or asked for.

Which of the following describes you?

  1. Saul was sent to search for lost donkeys; he returned home as the king of Israel (1 Sam 9-10)

  2. David wanted to build a house for God, and God blessed him with a covenant of kingship (2 Sam 7

  3. God blessed a widow at Zarephath with daily bread during a famine (1 Kings 17:7-16).

  4. Ruth, from a cursed tribe, was blessed with a godly family because she put her faith in God

  5. Out of love and zeal for God, Saul ignorantly persecuted the church, but Jesus saved him and

  6. called him to serve God ( Acts 9:1-19; 1 Tim 1:12-17).

  7. Peter had fished all day and caught nothing, but when he met Jesus, Jesus gave him a large catch and called him to serve the almighty God (Luke 5:1-11).

What has God done for us here at Central Harvest Church?

  • God has given us life, and we are all well.

  • God has given us the gift of faith.

  • God has given us families.

  • God has given us the Great Commission; we are doing missions more than before with success.

How should we say thank you to God?

We should remember that God has also given us the ability to put our blessings into good use and bear fruit that will last (e.g., Matthew 25:14-30).

Discipline ourselves, do not spend the blessings on ourselves, like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32).

Conclusion: God also allows problems to come to us accordingly, but his grace is sufficient for us to be victorious (1 Cor 10:13, 2 Cor 12:7-10; 2 Tim 1:11-12).
